Who doesn’t have WhatsApp installed on their smartphone? Most of you must be using the Facebook-owned instant messaging application.
Being one of the most popular internet-based instant messaging applications today, WhatsApp makes it easy for users to send text messages, audio messages, pictures, and videos.
However, there are interesting features that you may rarely use. One such feature is location sharing.
With this feature, you can send a map view of the location to a contact. Doing so is as easy as sending text, audio, image, and video messages.
This location sharing feature will be very useful when you plan to meet friends, co-workers, business clients, or anyone else, so that your position can be known accurately.
Here is how to share your location on WhatsApp that you should know, both for iOS and Android users, as quoted from Ubergizmo.
Location Sharing on WhatsApp
Open the WhatsApp application on your smartphone, followed by clicking the “+” icon (iOS) in the lower left corner of the application or paperclip (Android) in the lower right.
Select a location, and a map with a pin will appear showing your current location.
Tap Send Current Location if you’re satisfied with the placement. Or, you can choose various other nearby locations if you feel that your smartphone’s GPS is less accurate.
Send Location Live on WhatsApp
If you want to share your location, but will not be there for long, the Share Live Location feature can be an option.
This feature will update your current location even when moving. Like the method above, you can access this feature directly from within the application.
However, instead of selecting Send Current Location, you can tap on the Live Location Sharing option.
Please note, the Live Location Sharing feature will automatically turn off if the timer runs out, or when you tap Stop Sharing.
How about it, pretty easy isn’t it? Good luck.
